Position Summary
Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician Floater prepares, counts, labels, packages, and dispenses pharmaceuticals for Pharmacists approval, and assumes responsibilities involving receiving, entering, processing, and maintaining orders in the computer system. The Pharmacy Technician Floater must be flexible to travel to numerous locations within a geographical area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify accuracy and completeness.
- Under a pharmacist’s supervision, fill prescription orders.
- Responsible for data entry of new and refill requests.
- Reorder or notify appropriate personnel of medications and/or supply needs.
- Prepare simple drug compounds after the Pharmacist has verified the calculations and measurements.
- Perform expiration dating review of all medications.
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
- Assist customers by answering questions, locating items or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
- Answer telephones, responding to questions or requests.
- Clean and help maintain equipment and work areas.
- Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary by location.
Most of our pharmacies are closed in the evening and on weekends with limited weekend hours.

Requirements
Education, Qualifications & Skills
- Currently enrolled in high school or high school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum 18 years of age in states that require registration or certification.
- Experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred.
- Must have at least one (1) year pharmacy technician experience.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Ability to perform accurately and efficiently when inputting information.
- Possess and obtain knowledge of drug names - generic and trade.
- Ability to recognize subtle differences in names and numbers.
- Must be able to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points of others, and asking questions as appropriate.
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Must be flexible to travel to numerous locations within a geographical area.
Schedule: Stores are generally open from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday and 9am to 1pm Saturday.
Shift: Part-Time approximately 8 hours per week.
