Position Overview The Sr. Consumer Loan Officer is responsible for monitoring and supervising the activities of the loan officers and related staff; reviewing credit analyses and decisions of the lending staff; and providing technical expertise. Position Responsibilities Lending Recommendations and Decisions Monitors and supervises staff activities to ensure that fast, accurate and consistent loan decisions are delivered utilizing sound credit practices and in conformance with regulatory requirements and Bank policies. Reviews and analyzes complex/large credits including personal and business tax returns and/or financial statements to provide override decision authority. Presents lending recommendation worksheets for loans exceeding lending authority. Serves as next higher lending authority after Consumer Lending Credit Manager. Personnel Management Assists the Consumer Lending Credit Manager in developing goals, strategies, and objectives to achieve the department's mission and vision. Assumes the responsibilities of the Consumer Lending Credit Manager in his/her absence. Handles and resolves external and internal customer problems and complaints. Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly productivity reports as required. Monitors and maintains loan production tracking and operating systems for the department. Responsible for the management of all employees in the section including staffing, scheduling, compensation, performance management, training and development, succession planning and affirmative action to effectively utilize group and individual capabilities and enhance individual/group development and performance. Responsible for the timely and effective management of Human Resources forms and documents relevant to immediate staff. Manages staff resources to maximize productivity. Allocates resources to complete projects; review portfolio production and quality to make the most efficient use of resources. Prepares, monitors, and establishes daily work and vacation schedules for the staff. Compliance Monitors and remains informed of consumer laws and regulations as well as Bank policies, procedures and guidelines. Establishes procedures and monitoring systems to ensure compliance.
The qualified applicant for the Sr. Consumer Loan Officer position meets the following basic qualifications: College degree or equivalent work experience 5 years of credit lending experience Real Estate underwriting experience preferred Prior management and supervisory experience Must be able to use Excel, Word, and Access Demonstrated verbal and writing communication skills Knowledge of Consumer lending laws
