Description
We are seeking a Geotechnical PE for our Berkeley, CA location.
Minimum 5 years experience is required in the area of flood control levee design, stability & safety evaluation following the Federal Emergency Management. Candidate must have DAM experience
Knowledge of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) & U.S. Army Core of Engineer’s (USACE) standards and guidelines for levees and other flood control structures. Responsible & key personnel must be a registered civil engineer in California with experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Investigations, analyses, and design of spread footings, drilled piers, and pile foundations
Design of various retaining walls, flood walls, and pavement structures
Investigations, analyses, and design of erosion repair and slope stabilization
QA/QC review of geotechnical aspects of plans and specifications, and
Services during construction
- Investigations, and static and seismic slope stability analyses of levees
- Earthquake hazard evaluation and mitigation design of existing levees
- Design of new flood control levees following the applicable state and federal regulatory standards and guidelines
- Investigations, and analyses of seepage flow through levees, and design of seepage control measures
Overall levee stability and safety evaluation following the FEMA & USACE’s standards and guidelines and levee certification for flood map revision
