Responsibilities Security Forces, Combat Arms

Departmental focuses for Security Forces, Combat Arms include but are not limited to:

• Leads, manages, supervises, and performs force protection duties, including use of deadly force to protect personnel and resources.
• Protects nuclear and conventional weapons systems and other resources. 
• Provides armed response and controls entry.
• Detects and reports presence of unauthorized personnel and activities.
• Implements security reporting and alerting system.
• Apprehends and detains suspects.
• Searches persons and property.
• Secures crime and incident scenes.

Training consists but are not limited to the following:

• Weaponry
• Laws
• Policies
• Installation security  
• Resource security
• Anti-terrorism
• Air base defense
• Combat arms

Requirements for Security Forces, Combat Arms

Please be aware this is a Part Time position and requires Military enlistment.

Special Requirements

• Enlistment in the Air National Guard
• Normal color vision
• US citizen / Naturalized
• 17-40 years old
• Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Good Physical Condition / Health
• Additionally, you can only have limited law violations and must pass a background check. All of this is performed as part of the screening process before you can actually join the Air Guard.
