Regional Accounts Manager / District Sales Manager

We are currently seeking a District Sales Manager for this new position to join our sales team in Northern California.
Job summary
Due to growth, we are looking for strategic thinking sales professionals to join our team. This newly created opportunity will build, develops and maintain major accounts in the Southern California education system. Through consultative selling techniques the District Sales Manager will sell the suite of School Specialty products to large school districts and other large education systems. Build relationships at the executive level within the schools system. Implement the business plans for the retention, growth, and conversion of business to gain market share within the education industry. Collaborate in a matrix environment with all the key sales management and sales teams who sell our products and services.
Summary of essential job functions
- Ability to work within a matrix selling organization with an emphasis on teamwork – will work closely with the Business Leaders, Sales Leaders and Sales Reps to achieve goals
- Partner with education leaders and decision makers to develop strategies and implementation plans that achieves or exceeds current year commitments and which strategically position our business for future years' growth.
- Generates unique customer offerings and coordinates positioning of School Specialty thought the bundling of goods and services with assigned customers
- Identifies multiple stakeholders of influence within the customer and develops solutions which leverage our product portfolio.
- Responsible for communications, relationship management, and sales.
- Maintain up-to-date market intelligence on competitive alternatives and recommend strategies to preserve and grow market-share.
- Develop forecasting projections with consistent, accurate and relevant sales revenue that meet company objectives. Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts. Manages within assigned budget.
