Description
Tharaldson Property Management is looking for a new Sales Manager to join the team at our Residence Inn by Marriott in Madison, Wisconsin.
SALES MANAGER:
In this position, the Director of Sales & Marketing will create and implement hotel-level tactical sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase business volume during off-peak periods and enhance the image of the hotel in the local community. Monitoring sales activities and performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan, is also a crucial part of this opportunity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
***Develops and maintains marketing plan and sales budget with the General Manager
***Provides sales training to staff of hotel as applicable
***Analyzes Revenue Management strategy using such tools as Star reports, demand analysis and applicable front office systems
***Schedules sales appointments
***Conducts a required amount of cold calls
***Organizes, maintains, and tracks sales data
***Completes requests of General Manager and other management personnel, as applicable
***Performs functions of General Manager in General Manager's absence
***All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Three or more years of Hospitality sales experience
- Prior Director of Sales experience, preferably at a premium-branded hotel- Innovative and self-motivated.
- Has established relationships with corporate travel managers and travel agencies.
- Knowledge of GDS and Internet Marketing
- The ability to establish and maintain accounts, and develop relationships in the marketplace is essential.
- Outstanding leadership skills, strong yield and revenue management skills, written and verbal communications, a guest service focus, and a team oriented ability to develop an enthusiastic group of associates.
- Ability to sell and finalize meetings and blocks of rooms to include contracts and BEO's and oversee the execution of all meetings as agreed upon by the sales office and prospective client. Must be organized to track and follow up on rooming lists and outstanding contracts.
- Creativity is a must! You must be able to create unique, fun promotions and packages for both transient and groups to increase sales.
- Must be able to work indepentently and have the drive to succeed. A specified number of cold calls, appointments and tours are required each week.
. Local market knowledge is preferred, but a proven ability to develop relationships and grow share in marketplace will be considered.
- Necessary knowledge of major brand systems, web sites, account management systems , and computer systems necessary to be successful in this position.

- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing
