Description
The Stowers Institute for Medical Research has an opening for a Research Technician perform a broad range of experiments in the areas of biochemistry, molecular and cell biology in a PI Lab.
Responsibilities include working closely with other lab members on designing experimental outlines; independently performing experiments, analyzing data and troubleshooting problems; using modern techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, tissue culture, and microscopy to solve problems in biomedical science.
This position may also be responsible for evaluating new techniques and technology; developing laboratory guidelines, maintaining procedures manuals, and /or evaluating new materials and equipment; and training incoming personnel in proper lab conduct and instructing in experimental procedures.
In addition to excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment, the successful candidate will have operational knowledge of advanced molecular biology techniques.
Requirements
Minimum requirements include an undergraduate degree in chemistry or life sciences and at least two years of laboratory experience.
