Hirestrategy Client is looking for a Windows System Engineering Architect to join our consulting team. Qualified candidates will be working with our customers to design and document best practices and solutions for application implementation architectures. This position requires an extremely dynamic and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in collaborative environments for the production of polished and directly applicable design documents.
Responsible for technical design documentation
Collaborate on technical solutions with application architects, product managers and architecture teams
Follow established enterprise development and design standards, guidelines and processes
Create high-quality technical documentation
Interact with IT management and other teams at a highly professional and technical level
Provide high-quality consultation to business partners and demonstrate keen aptitude in acquiring business domain expertise.
Ensure deadlines are met, yet be forthright on progress and flexible
Ensure that all best practices and enterprise standards are followed.
Requirements
A minimum 5 years of IT experience in a highly available web hosting environment or corporate environment.
Must have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2003, 2008) running on 32-bit and 64-bit hardware.
Expert knowledge of Windows Server (2003-2008) administration required; For example, file and share permissions, user administration, security, networking and storage administration.
Fundamental knowledge of ASP.NET.
Event logging and analysis experience.
Strong knowledge and relevant past experience with Microsoft based networking technologies such as DNS, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP, FTP Microsoft SQL Server
Network setup, administration and monitoring using concepts of SNMP, IPSec, VLANS, IDS.
Experience with security administration of firewalls and switches;
Experience with load balancer products is a plus.
Experience with enterprise class Storage Area Networks, from vendors such as EMC, NetApp, Brocade and Hitachi, a strong plus.
Knowledge of Linux in a production environment is a big plus.
Expert knowledge of and experience with enterprise scale Windows technologies such as Server platforms, Desktop platforms, Exchange Environments, Active Directory, IIS, Windows Clustering, Virtualization and Collaboration tools is required
Technical consulting on the use and integration of Windows and Storage infrastructure
Strong Storage background with the ability to research, recommend and use new and existing storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, ISCSI, and other best-of-breed components is required
Provide Configuration Management leadership for the Enterprise Windows and Storage Systems
Experience with one or more enterprise class Storage is required (IBM, EMC and/or NetApp)
Proven experience in leading a large ILM/DLM initiative, Storage Capacity Monitoring, Reporting and Planning
Institute Proactive Problem Management processes for the Storage environment
Leadership in Developing, Planning and executing our Windows and Storage DR procedures
Practical knowledge and a large experience of a broad range of infrastructure technologies
Practical knowledge and a large experience of infrastructure services delivery techniques
Practical knowledge and a large experience of Internet facing environments
Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture concepts and best practices
5+ years experience creating, troubleshooting and supporting complex Windows and Storage solutions
5+ years in a Windows Infrastructure Architecture role, with some focus on Storage, technical designs and implementations
5+ years working with Windows Operating Systems, Clustering, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, OCS
5+ years working as an Infrastructure Architect to implement complex solutions
5+ yearsworking experience with a broad range of Infrastructure and Storage solutions

Proven strong innovative and analytical ability with extensive implementation experience
Must be a team player and have excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be fully competent to work under general direction on complex projects usually on specific assigned projects, issues and problems. Several projects will usually be active at the same time, so the ability to multitask is essential to success for this position
Must have a B.S. in Computer Science or related area of study and be eligible to work in the United States
United States Citizenship and the ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Public Trust and/or Customs and Border Protection clearance
