Unique opportunity for an engineering director or manager engineer to come aboard with a financially stable and growing HVAC company and lead them as they add new products to their capabilities. Will be responsible for development and design of air conditioning units. Will have responsibility for development and design of air conditioning units (including sheet metal cabinets), oversee prototyping and testing including agency certification. The VP has a staff of 20-25 personnel including 5 managers. Activities vary from development, actual design, prototype, test and agency submittals and approvals. Responsibilities range from budget development and monitoring, hiring and evaluation of staff, establishing time lines for projects and participate in design reviews. Will work closely with product managers in the definition of product specifications based on market requirements. Will interface with major customers at times.
The HVAC product lines you will be responsible enjoy an excellent reputation in the market place. The company has been making many innovative changes within the organization and can respond to the needs of applied commercial HVAC customers much faster than competitors especially the very large major HVAC/R companies who often will not or cannot offer a customer a customized ‘special need’ product. SALARY: $110,000 to $135,000 plus bonus to 15%
REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree in engineering.
Minimum of 12 years in product development/design engineering with good hands-on engineering development and design of HVAC products.
MUST have HVAC development and design experience, prefer applied commercial HVAC equipment but they will consider residential HVAC product design experience.
Minimum 5 years of management experience in development & design of HVAC equipment
Ability to interact with mfg, sales & marketing and customers to solve problems and for new product introductions.
U S citizen or perm resident.
Stable employment history not more than 2 jobs in last 6 years
Great communication skills and ability to represent the company with a high level of professionalism and confidence.
