Description General Description

Lead Battery Pack Systems Design from concept and prototype to production level. Responsible for ensuring the battery pack electrical system components and subsystems meet multiple customer, manufacturing, and industry standard requirements.

 

Work experience requirements
  • Create and maintain electrical system Statement of Requirements (SOR) for our vehicle, as well as other customer’s High Voltage Battery Systems.  Ensure the battery system SOR supports the Vehicle Technical Specification (VTS).
  • Assist in supplier battery module development and module integration into the battery system. Support manufacturing by following DFM/DFA practices.
  • Assist in sourcing systems components to support the prototype and development hardware builds. Support TS16949 quality documentation for systems development and change control requirements. Ensure adherence to UL specifications and  European UN quality standards
  • Create systems test plans, support mule dynamometer and  proving ground testing,  and validation testing to develop a safe, reliable product.
  • Provide development status reports for management review.
  • Support design reviews and internal/external quality gate reviews.  Support vehicle design team with battery system interface and other related design issues.
  • Assist in training new systems and test employees; Support field technicians in diagnosing systems problems. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Requirements Education requirements
  • Previous high voltage battery systems development  experience having 5+ years handling multiple programs in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Understanding of CAN networks and Aerovironment ROS scripting
  • Previous hands on design experience in product, equipment, and tool design. Experience with integration of hybrid automotive battery systems a plus
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to suppliers and development partners to support current and future development.
  • BSME, BSEE, or equivalent work experience and training required
  • MSEE a plus
