Multi-Media Technical Specialist

General Description:

The Multi-Media Technical Specialist will assist in the selection of an online course management system, either synchronous or asynchronous and help in the instructional design of online classes. The specialist will also help develop a proposal on the feasibility of an interactive classroom, webcasts, web conferencing and which technologies most successfully match Mt. Cuba Center’s distance learning goals.

The Multi-Media Technical Specialist is responsible for creating content through audio- video capture of our continuing education classes, research and symposia for future on-line Mt. Cuba Center e-learning classes. This individual must have knowledge of videography and post-production editing to produce a selection of e-learning products for electronic media. This technician will initially help set up a multimedia lab. The Multi-Media Specialist will provide technical expertise in the audio-video/website interface and coordination of learning platforms.

Requirements:  Technical degree in Visual communications or 2 years experience. Proficiency is necessary in editing software like Final Cut, Avid or Adobe Premiere Pro. Some experience needed in Adobe CS-4 suite in applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, or Captivate. E-learning suite is preferable.  Some web design and instructional design experience in course and learning management systems and knowledge of different learning platforms is preferred. A flexible schedule (in order to capture video of our classes and symposia) is required.
