Engineer - Materials Engineer - Industrial Weld Engineer

We have an opening for a Welding Engineer.  He/she is to be based out of our Wixom, MI office and will report to the General Manager.

The Position.

Stork CRS is looking for an energetic and pro-active engineer who can grow and maintain our weld consultancy and evaluation business. While doing this you will be part of a professional team of engineers and technicians.

In this role you will:

• Client account management responsibilities including customer service and onsite consultation, new account development and existing account follow-up
• Perform as onsite witness for welding of procedure and performance test coupons
• Complete post-weld visual inspection of test coupons per requested specifications and report weld test results using standard laboratory report formats
• Prepare Welding Procedure Specification Draft documents for client use in preparing procedure test coupons
• Perform visual inspection of post-test guided bend and tensile specimens per requested specifications
• Verify that client fabrication requirements meet the applicable drawings and/or contracts

Requirements for Consideration.

• 4 year Bachelor's degree in Welding, Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) OR Certified Weld Engineer (CWE)

• 5 or more years of industrial welding engineering experience
• Previous work experience must include use and familiarity with AWS D1.1 or ASME Section IX codes, and/or other relevant codes and standards
• Experience with arc fusion welding processes such as GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, etc.
• Practical experience with the welding of carbon and alloy steels required, additional experience with other materials would be considered a plus
• Any additional nondestructive test experience and/or other weld credentials would also be considered relevant for the position
• Developed oral and written communication skills to interact with Stork personnel and client customer contacts
• US Citizen
