Description
  • Maintains high quality documentation of all therapy services consistent with facility policies.
  • Maintains the highest professional ethical standards and all legal requirements and promptly informs Clinical Services Director of any observed violations in others.
  • Assesses patients’ needs regularly and assists in the developing and updating of the Master Treatment Plan.
  • Makes progress reports to, and contacts with, each referral agency representative and with each significant other as required.
  • Makes telephone calls as appropriate to families, guardians, and relevant third parties to give and get information concerning assigned patients, according to guidelines.
  • Provides individual and family therapy to assigned patients and their families consistent with established techniques, methods and theories of the relevant professional literature.
  • Provides group therapy to assigned patients consistent with established techniques and methods of the relevant professional literature.
  • Exercises sound judgment in making therapeutic decisions concerning assigned cases.
  • Prepares written progress reports as required by facility policies.
  • Ensure positive relationships with referral sources and families.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conduct risk assessments regarding the following: danger to self (suicide/self-injurious behaviors/self-care); danger to others (potential for aggression, including physical assault, homicide, other); elopement; sexual predation/acting out; other behaviors that place the patient or others in danger.
Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited school with a master’s degree in psychology, social work, or professional counseling.

 

Experience: Two or more years’ experience in a mental health setting preferred. Must possess knowledge of major aspects of psychiatric treatment of population served.

 

Licenses/Certificates: Licensed, or license eligible, as a social worker, marriage and family counselor or professional counselor per the state of Kentucky’s licensure and regulation standards for a mental health  professional.

 

Additional Requirements: Knowledgeable of JCAHO, OSHA regulations, and state and federal regulatory standards; CPR/CPI certification.
