Accounting Specialist

Description Small Anchorage Company is looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist who reports directly to the Finance Manager. Work environment is positive with a great team. Candidate must have a strong work ethic, high degree of integrity and professionalism. It is essential to be able to work independently without a lot of supervision. Must have strong attention to detail and be very accurate in all areas of their work. Position involves a heavy workload and the Candidate must be very organized and able to prioritize. Position is full-time but a flexible work schedule is possible.

Duties may include:

Accounts Payable
•all phases of accounts payable processing including vendor file maintenance, invoice and payment processing, check preparation and remittance, reconciliation of vendor accounts, 1099 record maintenance, and accounts payable records management.

Accounts Receivable
•processing accounts receivable by generating invoices, posting cash receipts, reconciling customer accounts, customer correspondence and accounts receivable records management.

Other Accounting
•expense report processing
•preparation of deposits
•reconciling general ledgers accounts
•other duties as assigned

Requirements Minimum two years experience in accounting with emphasis in accounts payable. Some education in accounting is desirable but not required. Proficiency in data processing and computer programs especially Excel is required. Strong ability to be organized, accurate, work independently, and professional is necessary. A positive attitude and desire to have fun at work is recommended.
