Billing Specialist

 

   

Position Summary Description:

The Billing Specialist shall support the end to end process of billing, from invoice creation, adjustments as required and eventual processing of payment.  This is a high-volume transaction environment with credit cards being a primary method of payment.  This position will also support customer inquiries related to any facet of Billing.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Assist Customer Service with customer questions and billing issues
• Research billing inquires and conclusions using Oracle software 
• Process customer credits and refunds and communicate with customer support personnel
• Process daily incoming customer payments and bank deposits
• Review billing inquires resolved by support for adherence to procedure and documentation 
• Must be willing to pick up additional projects and administrative tasks as needed

Basic Qualifications

• Well organized and detail-oriented with excellent analytical and communication skills
• Analytical self starter with credit card and/or reconciliations experience in a fast-paced call center, customer service, and/or financial services environment

·Strong flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple tasks within stringent time frames while maintaining accuracy.

·  Work independently in a structured environment with minimal supervision.

· Ability to analyze and assess needs of clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior accounting, revenue, billing or customer support experience
• Prior experience in a high volume credit card payment environment

· Comfort with technology and competency in MS Excel, Siebel and Portal  environments

· Proven relationship, negotiation and problem-solving skills with internal and external clients and with team members.

· Experience in identifying gaps and generating process improvement ideas.

Education

• Associate Degree or commensurate experience


Physical Requirements  

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; hear or talk: use close vision; use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects; and type and manipulate controls.  Employee is occasionally required to use distance vision, stand, kneel or crouch and lift up to 10 lbs.
