Steel Detailer / MBS Detailer

NUCOR Building Systems, a leader in the Pre-Engineered Metal Building Industry, is seeking qualified Senior Detailer/Checker candidates

Position Duties and Responsibilities –

•  Individuals will create construction/erection drawings, fabrication drawings/reports and bills of material as required for metal building manufacturing and erection. 
• Individuals must be able to properly represent Nucor and the Detailing Department in office and customer meetings.  They will build skills and continue to learn how to confidently and efficiently communicate directly with customers and Nucor builders.  They will often be approached by Detailing personnel and other departments for ideas and solutions to technical problems. 
• Individuals will be involved with projects outside the typical detailer/checker responsibilities, involving Product Development and Detailing procedures.  They will continue to build positive relations with plant personnel and gain trust and respect in fabrication solutions. 
• Individuals will be expected to take full responsibility for all aspects of projects they are involved with.  All checkers will continue to learn and strengthen knowledge of metal building applications in industry and architecture. 
• Individuals will need to expand and adjust their "system" for checking jobs to smoothly and accurately implement new policies and procedures.  They will learn to master the "give and take" method of problem solving and apply it to guiding detailers. Individuals will often teach and mentor less experienced detailers and on occasion may lead in the training of new employees. 
• Senior Detailers will be required to detail and/or check all project complexities and work through new building conditions accurately.

• Individuals must have fulfilled the requirements for an Advanced Detailer or have a minimum of four (4) years experience working directly with a metal building manufacturer.
• Individuals have strong knowledge of their job and are often asked questions by others.  They set a good example for others to follow, have a great attitude, and show unlimited potential. 
• Individuals perform above expectations and readily accept additional responsibilities.  They are mature and capable of checking jobs with high accuracy and quality.  They require little or no supervision. 
• Individuals are comfortable discussing new or different ideas that involve product and procedure.  They contribute effectively in group discussions and brain-storming sessions. 
• Individuals will be able to accurately check all complexity projects.
