Description

Looking for 2 Tolerance Planning Engineers for Engine Systems Group at part of Geometric dimensioning development engineering team.

·      

  • Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and

           Products

  • Develop and integrate dimensional requirements for Engine Systems including Exhaust, Cooling and Air induction

     

    Engineering Components.

    Help revise the concept/design of current and new tooling to improve manufacturing processes and dimensional capability.

  • Develop dimensional control strategy that supports variability reduction
  •  Provide input for design and assembly concepts which will yield nominal variations
  • Establish critical characteristics for gauging and measuring data collection methods
  • Review internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibility
  • Communicate dimensional issues and corrective actions
  • Catia GD&T documentation of all Exhaust end items.
  • Serve as main technical interface in issues related to dimensional characteristics with Engine Systems engineering suppliers

  • Analyze and resolve dimensional issues related to individual components, assemblies and interfacing systems.

  • Support vehicle development milestones and build events.

  • Create GD&T controls on engineering production drawings and ensure compatibility with interfacing systems.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating principles for Tolerance plans.

  • Experience in performing Tolerance stack up analysis model using Cetol, Vis VSA.

  • Create and publish all dimensional objective status at each phase of the program.

    Work closely with Supplier Quality Assurance personnel.

  

 

Requirements
  • BS in Engineering Required 

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Strong problem solving skills background that include 8D, FMEAs and DMAIC’s.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5 (required)
  • Knowledge of GD&T (required) and FTA (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Virtual tolerance Stack up tools Cetol , Vis VSA (Required)
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Project)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of ANSI dimensioning and geometric tolerancing.
  • Experience authoring documents and presentations in support of product development.
  • Ability to work in diverse and co-located teams and coordinate with global engineering teams.
