The position holds accountability for operation of equipment within a designated cell and delivery of material from the cell.

 

Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, development and coaching, performance reviews, planning for continuous improvement within the designated team, as well as input to the budgeting process. 

 

The position is also accountable for managing a designated area within Production to support Lean (process, quality, safety) requirements to meet organizational objectives. 

 

  • Participates in interview and selection process for job family, collaborates with interview team members to select candidates based on specific knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors representative of successful employees in existing positions.

 

  • Develops and coaches individuals within the team to support the process, operations objectives, strategic goals and individual career goals.  Partners with other Leads and Senior Technicians in the designated area to plan and manage cross-training plans.    

 

  • Develops and manages staffing schedules for the team, supports operational requirements to deliver material requirements. 

 

  • Partners with Management to support the annual budget process and periodic budget review/status process.  Communicates appropriately with designated team to create understanding of how daily activities link to operational goals and strategies. 

 

  • Partners with Management to maintain his/her own self development.  Accountable for personal continuous learning through participation in routine and complex problem-solving activities related to the process or equipment in the designated job family and other job families.  May develop his/her personal knowledge through participation in seminars, recommended readings, or company developmental activities on an ongoing basis.

 The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Where required, hearing protection will be provided.  Other safety training will be provided as needed.

 

Some functions require handling of hazardous material.  Training is mandatory and provided.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess the following:



  • Regular attendance during regularly scheduled business hours is mandatory.  This position is responsible for a 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. shift working a rotating schedule which includes regularly scheduled weekend shifts. 


  • Knowledge of and general application skills in Windows office environment is required.  Functional ability in Excel, Word and SAP is preferred.


  • Five (5) years related experience in a manufacturing environment (may include training/certification, training others in a related field); 2 of the 5 years must be in a leadership role.


  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical documents, instructions or reports.  Ability to respond to inquiries form peers, other leaders/managers, or other department personnel.  Ability to communicate job related information verbally or in writing as required.
