Description LifeLinks, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the needs of adults with developmental disabilities in the Greater Lowell area. We are seeking to add a full-time behavior specialist to our team. This individual will develop and ensure implementatin of behavior therapy for individuals served in the LifeLinks day and residential programs.

Conducts behavioral assessments on referrals to our programs. Writes assessments for individuals using MAS, preference assessment etc.; revise assessments as needed.

Designs and writes Level I and Level II behavior treatment plans. 

Determines if an individual will have a change in his/her environment or the use of restraint or any other protocol that requires review and consent by any or all of the following: physician; ISP team, Human Rights Committee; and/or DSS Peer Review committee.

Establish baseline data for all plans by meeting with program staff; teach staff what data must be collected and how; determine validity of data via review and observation; review and analyze monthly data for all plans.

Support program staff in implementing changes in environment and protocols as outlined in treatment plans.

Write quarterly progress notes for all Level I and II behavior treatment plans in accordance with Medicaid regulations.

Assist staff in wirting quarterly progress reports for all behavior support strategies.

Assist in the coordination of admisssion and the discharge process in the event of individual's psychiatric hospitalizations.

Serve as a resouce to day and residential program staff and family members and/or outside stakeholders in how to properly carry out and interpret data for treatment plans. 

Maintain a casseload of individuals served by this position. 

Maintain familiarity with regulations including but not limited to DSS behavior modification, human rights, rogers monitor, and any other regulations related to medications which control behavior or protocols that require review and consent by outside stakeholders.

Maintain current knowledge in the field.

Serve as the agency restraint manager to review and finalize completed restraints in HCIS databse. Maintain agency-wide database of incident reports; analyze data and record trends; provide quarterly report to program directors and the human rights committee; attend human rights committee meeting as requested.

Determine the need for mandatory training.

Train program staff in strategies and data management for all behavior treatment programs

Participate in and complete own mandatory training and maintain certifications in First Aid, Adult CPR; PAC restraint and other areas as required.

Facilitate PAC training and PAC re-certification training for staff as needed

Requirements Master's degree in psychology preferred; Bachelor's degree accepted with related experience in behavior modification. Experience with data collection and analysis; ABA
 
Board certified Behavior Analyst preferred

Experience working with the developmentally disabled population preferred

Certification as a PAC Trainer highly desirable

Computer literacy in Excel, MS Word, boardMaker, Powerpoint, Internet; Outlook or other email application.

Excellent writing and organizational skills

Excellent observational skills and the ability to document human behavior objectively

Willingness to drive to a variety of locations to attend meeting and provide trainings

Willingness to work evenings and on occasion to attend evening meetings

Must have current drivers license 

Current Red Cross Sponsored First Aid, Adult CPR required within first six months on the job.
