Processed Meats Production Manager - 2nd & 3rd Shifts

John Morrell & Co. of Sioux Falls, SD is looking for 2 energetic, highly motivated Production Supervisors to oversee our 2^nd and 3^rd shift Processed Meats Operations. 

About us:

Our plant sits in the Eastern part of South Dakota, a state with an abundance of outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and boating and no state income tax.  With over 3,100 employees, the Sioux Falls plant is a leader in the pork industry and one of the largest employers in the Midwest. 

We are seeking qualified applicants with previous experience in the meat processing industry.  A successful candidate will:

• Know how to motivate others
• Work well with a diverse workforce
• Possess the ability to ensure safety and ergonomic programs and encourage a “work safe go home safe" mentality
• Be able to identify, schedule, and follow up on preventative equipment maintenance and comprehend general mechanical processes
• Work with employees to adequately ensure HACCP and USDA standards are met
• Be able to maintain or exceed goals on yields, productivity and efficiencies 
• Understand and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
• Be comfortable executing disciplinary action when necessary and ensure employees comply with company policies
• Know how to solicit suggestions in the areas of safety, efficiency and morale from all levels of employees including management, general laborers, supervisors, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; preference will be given to individuals with meat industry experience.
