Description U.S. HealthWorks, one of the nation's leader in Occupational Medicine, is currently seeking a Bilingual (Spanish Speaking)  X-Ray Technician for our Tempe, AZ Clinic.


U.S. HealthWorks offers specialized services, tailored to the needs of each employer that follow employment events from job application to case settlement. We provide services at our network of freestanding medical centers and, on-site, at employer locations.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

Perform radiological procedures as requested by physicians in compliance with x-ray department and legal requirements. Help patients feel comfortable during the entire process.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Protect patients, yourself and staff from radiation exposure by practicing sound procedures which meet or exceed recommended industry standards.
  • Develop and process radiological film.
  • Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians. Maintain a repeat rate of 2 percent or less.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Report immediately any equipment malfunctions to Supervisor.
  • Log completed radiological procedures. Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintain examination rooms. Stock necessary office and radiological supplies.
  • Request, retrieve and track films to and from other departments or centers.
  • Compile and condense technical and statistical data for reports and records.
  • Work closely with the physician to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients.
  • Utilize formal channels of communication to report concerns, personal requests and patient issues.
  • Respect patients' right to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain an orderly and professional working atmosphere.
  • Maintain professional standards and procedures ensuring compliance with Corporate policies and with applicable regulations.
  • Assist in the solution of problems as directed by Supervisor.
  • Perform related work as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a medical office environment.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity, as well as eye-hand coordination. Frequent standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time, as well as some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds.


PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform x-ray testing.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients and other staff.
  • Flexibility in working hours to handle variation in the inflow of patients and cover the needs of the department.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Completion of course in radiological technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Preferable.

Certificate/License

  • Current center State Limited License in Radiology.
  • Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred.



Experience

  • None required; however, previous experience in an orthopedic and/or trauma radiology department is desirable.



Requirements

Completed course of Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)is preferred.
