Description Summary: Assists in-house counsel in management of various litigation matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist counsel with respect to all litigation activities including, pleading preparation, discovery responses, witness preparation, settlement conferences, trials and appeals.

Analyze and apply legal sources such as statutes, regulations, trial rules and judicial decisions.

Review and summarize medical records.

Investigate facts, corporate documents, and medical literature.

Apply relevant law to determine defenses and/or causes of action.

Organize and maintain litigation files and source documents.

Interact with corporate personnel, outside counsel and experts.

Requirements Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university, and/or Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in paralegal studies; law firm, legal department and/or litigation experience preferred.
