On-Call Residential Advisor

1. Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in dormitory living situation and to accomplish their goals and objectives.
2. Determine, recommend and arrange student visits to counselor; review problems related to assigned students with counselors.
3. Direct unit activities as designated including dorm officer's meetings and activities and dorm courts.
4. Patrol and monitor dormitories and center as required to ensure safety and proper behavior of students; resolve potential or occurring problems.
5. Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students.  Prepare related reports.
6. Assist with recreational activities for students on- and off-center.
7. Transport students to and from recreational functions, clothing trips, airport bus stations, or home as required.
8. Prepare the morning report, pass list and other administrative correspondence relating to students.
9. Direct students or assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the dormitory; provide instructions to ensure students understand procedures and expectations.
10. Conduct career preparation activities as assigned and maintain appropriate documentation.
11. Recommend or requisition supplies to meet needs for dorm living and safety of students.
12. Maintain dormitory and individual student files; maintain dormitory log books.
13. Conduct weekly wing meetings and maintain appropriate documentation.
14. Conduct weekly sanitation locker inspections.
15. Support CDSS by implementing and participating in activities and programs as described in the center's CDSS plan or as assigned.
16. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
17. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
18. Participate in student employability programs and activities.
19. Support and promote center zero tolerance policies.
20. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive negative behaviors through interventions.
21. Maintain accountability of students and property, adhere to safety practices.

high school diploma or equivalent and one year experience in counseling, social work, rehabilitation or vocational guidance.  Associate or bachelor's degree in human services preferred.  Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required.  Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
