Description
  • Perform duties related to collection activities including contacting delinquent loan customers, negotiating payment plans, and repossessing collateral when necessary. 
  • Contact delinquent loan customers regarding delinquent payments, may be in person or by telephone

         a. Attempt to collect monies due or obtain promise to pay.

         b. Accept payments or partial payments on delinquent accounts, provide customers with receipts.

         c. Discuss consequences of continued nonpayment with delinquent customers.

        d. Maintain records of customer contacts; input results of collection efforts into collection tracking system on Horizon.

  • Prepare reports various reports regarding delinquent accounts and collection activities.
  • Repossess collateral on past due accounts when necessary, complete reports as required.
  • Work with dealers to have keys cut for repossessed vehicles.
  • Inspect real estate for property condition of delinquent accounts.
  • Coordinate bankruptcy, foreclosure, probate and other legal matters with outside counsel.
  • Direct supervision of collection staff; train, coach and conduct annual performance evaluations.
Requirements Successful candidate will possess:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in business or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of collections experience
  • Ability to maintain composure during stressful confrontations
  • Physical ability to perform duties related to repossession
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Possess good judgment
  • Ability to be assertive while using tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to meet and learn changing conditions
  • Ability to utilize various office and computer equipment and related software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
