Academic Advisors

The academic advisor will work with 300-500 online only students to provide ongoing communication and support for each of those students, and help those students succeed in their academic program. 

The essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Lead the new student through the Online Student Orientation process, and make sure that all new students are comfortable with the online education process, and are ready to interact within the Online Learning Platform.
• Collects data and participates in assessment of services.  Creates reports and maintains student files.  Uses technology to enhance delivery of student services.
• Provide ongoing academic advisement for continuing students, making them aware of campus and community resources.  Provides information on study skills and other college success strategies.
• Track student progress and attendance.
• Contact all students directly on a regularly scheduled basis to encourage success.
• Follow up with at-risk students on a more intense schedule of contact.
• Develop a facebook account as an academic advisor, encourage your assigned students to sign up, and use it as an additional means of communicating with your students.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Prior student services/advising experience preferred.
• Must be extremely detail oriented.
