Description
  • Studies receiving or shipping notices, requests for movement of raw materials and finished products, and reports of warehousing space available to develop schedule for material handling activities.

  • Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products.

    Monitors container inventory to ensure adequate supply to meet customer and production needs.

  • Prepares shipments.

  • Communicates potential part shortages to plant.

  • Directs training of workers to improve work performance.

  • Understands and meets all customer requirements and demands.

  • Works with Materials/Shipping/Production to maintain 100% deliver performance and ensures that all shipments are made as required by the customer.

  • Materials Department data entry to include, but not limited to , Shippers, ASNs, and customer purchase orders, emails, etc…  Maintenance of QAD as it applies to Shipping and customer orders
  • Daily interaction with customer systems (Honda Supply Team, DDL, SMART, etc…), as required and according to policies
  • Ensures that equipment is properly used and maintained.
  • Verifies or prepares records such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
Requirements

 

Extended Experience in Automotive/Shipping environment as it pertains to customer systems (Honda, ACH, Ford, JCI, AAM, DCX), customer service, Shipping paperwork, EDI and ASNs
      

Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
