Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis

POSITION SUMMARY: Financial Planning and Analysis provides support throughout the organization to ensure a superior understanding of the economic ramifications of all business decisions.

 

DUTIES:       

  • Preparation of monthly  business reviews which include:
    • Account revenue, gross profit, & contribution profit variances
      to budget, forecast, prior year and trend with detailed discussion & analysis by customer.
    • SG&A variances including cost center variances and ‘natural’ expense variances (aggregate T&E, Salary, etc. etc.)
    • DSO & working capital discussion & analysis to include unbilled AR issues, collection issues, & credit alerts by customer
  • Manage other financial departments in regards to:
    • Accounts Receivable (Billing and Collections)
    • Customer credit analysis
    • Accounts Payable (Accruals and payment processing)
    • Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
    • Accounting- (customer reporting)
  • Maintain an active list of account changes and cost center forecast changes (e.g. additions/reductions to scope, store opening/closing, higher/lower headcount needs, etc.) which will serve as an informal gauge of forecast risks in lieu of the ‘bottom’s up’ forecasts which are conducted periodically.
  • Drive profitability of respective accounts through analysis support to all cost centers in understanding variances in expenses to budget, forecast and prior year and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Manage formal budget and forecast process including the preparation of detailed revenue and margin variance explanations
  • Ad Hoc Analysis & projects as needed
Requirements
  • 5 – 7 years of Financial Planning experience
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • MBA preferred, not required
  • Expert Excel Skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in matrix-organization
  • Proven ability to develop cross-departmental relationships
