Description Assists the Accounting Department with reporting, analyzing, forecasting, modeling and general accounting functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.       Prepare various performance and financial reports for Accounting Department. Reports
          include month variance reports, weekly inventory analysis, financial statements, analysis
          of gain or losses for investments, prepare cash flow forecasts and budgets, AR analysis,
          and develop modeling as needed.

 

2.       Assist with preparation and posting of general ledger journal entries, perform balance
         sheet reconciliations, and analyze various accounts. Assist internal users as required.

 

3.       Ensure financial compliance and reporting with all appropriate governmental units and 
          agencies, such as City of Chicago.

 

4.       Review and reconcile daily cash deposits and assigned bank accounts, as well as
          accounts payable and agency inputs.  Serve as backup for daily deposits. 

 

5.       Assist Accounting Department with planning and administering annual audit; prepare
          and update audit schedules.

 

6.       Assist Accounting Department in ensuring that necessary controls are in place to
          maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial information. 

 

7.       Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.  CPA certification desirable.

4+ years of increasingly responsible finance or accounting experience.

High Proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel, Access, Outlook

Experience with Navision and Accounting databases (Great Plains, Lawson, etc) a plus

Experience with Crystyl Reports a plus

Non-profit accounting experience preferred.

Excellent customer service skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desire for growth and advancement in Accounting profession.
