HUMAN RESOURCES BENEFITS ANALYST
SunEdison is North America's largest solar energy services provider, with close to 80 MW of generation capacity under management across 290 solar power plants. SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The benefits analyst is responsible for answering employee questions and resolving employee issues as they relate to the company's benefit plans and policies. This position processes benefits transactions, acts as a liaison to vendors and communicates benefits policies and procedures to employers through individual and group orientations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Creates and updates weekly reports as needed.
· Conducts exit interviews, tracks termination and resignation reasons for reporting purposes.
· Maintains employee records in a confidential and organized manner.
· Responsible for accurate and timely data entry into HRIS system.
· Assists in conducting new employee orientations and offers suggestions for continued improvement.
· Processes workers compensation claims.
· Processes new hire paperwork ensuring paperwork completed properly and all appropriate signatures obtained.
· Processes termination paperwork.
· Orders benefit materials; ensuring remote offices have sufficient supply as well.
· Assists with special projects as needed.
· Assist in researching and recommendations regarding plans. Analyze available data to evaluate benefit program metrics.
· Assist in reviewing company benefits plans to ensure compliance with government regulations.
· Respond to benefits inquiries from employees, management personnel, and vendors. Review and authorize all welfare plan enrollments, terminations, and reimbursement requests.
· Notify COBRA vendor of terminations relating to qualifying events for dependents and new retirement enrollments.
· Administer and maintain leaves of absences. Advise employees and managers regarding leaves of absences processes. Calculate eligibility regarding sick leave bank, FMLA and STD/LTD. Ensure proper documentation is received, recorded and communicated to employees and appropriate personnel.
· Manage departmental budgets. Ensure invoices are charged to the correct cost center and provide cost analysis to management.
· Assist with open enrollment process by ensuring accuracy of employee communication materials, facilitating open enrollment meetings, preparing informational packets to be mailed to employees, entering open enrollment elections in HRIS.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information and maintaining accurate and detailed records.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Must be flexible and adaptive to a fast-paced business environment.
· Relies on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of job.
· Expected to demonstrate initiative and responsibility.
· PHR certification desired but not required.
· 3-4 years of experience administering a variety of health and welfare plans.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Good professional judgment in dealing with sensitive employee issues.
· Customer service orientation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasional travel by airplane and automobile in conducting business may be required. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is expected. Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting with occasional travel to and from regional offices, to job sites or to meet with subcontractors / suppliers.
