We seek a hands-on Warehouse Manager at our Home Office (HO) location in Bainbridge, OH with a minimum of 5 years Warehouse/Shipping/Receiving Supervisor experience.

The Warehouse Manager must be willing to identify and perform tasks which contribute to the overall mission of the Rent-2-Own business and its relationship with our valued customers.  This position is responsible for managing the receiving, warehousing and delivery of products to and from the Rent-2-Own stores. It should be the goal of the Warehouse Manager to maintain a strong relationship with all Rent 2 Own employees and customers in all phases of the process.  This individual is responsible for the direct supervision/management of Warehouse Delivery Drivers and is accountable for directing their daily activities as a team of employees toward established goals. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the warehouse to operate within policies and procedures established by the company and must continually communicate to all employee’s the factors that cause a Warehouse to be successful and how each employee can impact those success factors through their daily activities. The incumbent must also communicate and lead the employee team as “The Coach" by establishing and demonstrating a strong, honest, and driven work ethic worthy of the leadership position. 

Essential functions of the job include:
Receiving of inventory          

  • Maintain receiving hours conducive to getting everything we need
  • Receive carefully from proper paperwork (purchase orders)
  • Note all damage to any received goods
  • Get serials and product received into system in 24 hours

     

    Distribution of inventory            

  • Get product to stores as scheduled
  • Establish a team mentality of urgency in filling stores product needs for customers
  • Be flexible with 12 noon cut-off
  • Load and transport product without damage 

     

    Management of Idle inventory            

  • Identify HO team of high idle inventory (over 60 days)
  • Match high touch idle with Internet idle monthly
  • Conduct category inventory weekly and full and clean inventory quarterly (including HO service and Loaners)
  •  

     Transfer of product store to store

    Transport Customer and Idle product for service

     Communication with HO team            

  • Buyer—know at all times what is coming and when.  Get parts to stores in efficient manner
  • Marketing Director—know what stores need to get for specific promotions
  • Inventory Specialist—receive and transfer timely
  • Receptionist—be accessible for stores
  • Direct Supervisor—frequent and candid communication 

     

    Constantly look for efficiencies in warehouse operation            

  • Staff, vehicles, facilities

     

    Maintain working fleet of trucks in all locations            

  • Getting loaner trucks and moving trucks when necessary 

     

    Maintain the HO facilities            

  • Snow, Grass and overall upkeep of entire HO location


    Team management
                

  • Schedules, trains, coaches a team of delivery drivers
  • Evaluate the performance of delivery drivers

     

     Follows all Company policies and procedures
     

    Maintains confidential employee, customer and store information within company procedures

     

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plans and holds weekly Team meetings.
    • Attends recommended training events.         
    • Stays in touch with store managers to ensure warehouse staff is meeting store needs.
    • Promotes the integrity and goodwill of the company through-out the business and residential community.

  • Requirements

     

    • Satisfactory work record and attendance.
    • Valid State motor vehicle operator's license with evidence of safety and insurability within the guidelines of the insurer. 
    • Must maintain a valid Department of Transportation physical exam/certificate.
    • The ability to safely operate and do basic maintenance with equipment and delivery vehicles.
    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Minimum 5 years Warehouse/Shipping/Receiving Supervisor experience.
    • Willingness to work as a “Team Player".
    • Willingness to work within the policies, procedures and ethics established by the company.
    • Able to properly lift and repetitively maneuver all products and equipment including but not limited to household furniture, appliances and electronics by using proper equipment and safe lifting techniques.
    • Must be dependable, reliable and mature enough to handle all types of monetary transactions, as well as company assets such as equipment and vehicles in a safe and sensible manor.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Ability to work effectively and professionally with employees, customers, store staff, and Company leadership.
    • Strong verbal communication, writing, organizational, computer and problem solving skills.
    • The ability to handle administrative duties, maintain and organize computer and paper files.
