Description
General Summary
Manage daily processes of the consumer lending products including compliance with relevant state and federal lending laws. Monitor and analyze economic conditions affecting the consumer lending products and recommend appropriate action.
Essential Functions
Ensure that consumer loan policies and procedures are adhered to for compliance and regulatory reviews. Monitor the progress with emphasis on revenue generation in accordance with the Business Plan. Maintain up to date knowledge of general economic conditions that may affect the credit union’s consumer lending department. Maintain knowledge of competitor’s rates and terms and other trends relating to consumer lending. Monitor and make recommendations for lending interest rates. Monitor and coordinate the discretionary and mandatory loan interest rate changes. Develop, analyze, and complete monthly loan reports. Review loan approvals for soundness of decisions. Perform monthly audits of consumer loan files to ensure quality and that lending policies are followed. Cross sell lending products to branches, monitor the cross sells for completeness, report to Lending Manager a monthly sales report.

Characteristics are normally acquired through completion of an Associates Degree or equivalent course study in a related field, at least three years of related work experience in a financial institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience as a loan officer.

Knowledge of consumer loan policy, credit granting criteria, interest rates and how they are computed, and required documentation for each type of loan.

Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
· Ability to pay close attention to detail and work well under pressure.
· Ability to adapt well to change.
· Outgoing, friendly, professional attitude.
