Description
Illinois Tool Works has recently been named one of America's most admired companies by a prominent business publication. We are looking for a Pro Remodeling Sales Representative at one of our leading divisions, Paslode. Paslode is an industry leading manufacturer of cordless and pneumatic fastening systems for new home construction and remodeling applications. The position will be based out of our DC Metro territory consisting of: Prince George, Fairfax, Prince William, Montgomery and Loudon counties.
The Pro Remodeling Sales Representatives main responsibilities include: utilizes Trade Focus selling skills to create end-user demand for Paslode; meet and exceed profitable sales and margin objectives; develops and implements end-user & channel specific selling strategies to support territory sales objectives focused on the remodeling segment; and driving sales growth within the remodeling segment.
The Pro Remodeling Sales Representative will also be responsible for the following:
End User Selling: Achieves annual territory sales goals as assigned by manager. Continuously identifies and targets key end users for conversion. Conducts end user surveys, on-site demonstrations, develops end user relationships and implements selling strategies across the territory to the maximum benefit of Paslode. Effectively exhibits selling skills and uses Paslode and competitive product knowledge to achieve sales.
Market Analysis / Selling Strategies: Uses Trade Focus data and analysis to develop Market profile and end-user specific selling strategies designed to increase Paslode brand awareness and influence sales with the Remodeler/Custom Home Builder.
Use Channel as a selling resource: Establish and maintain contact with the management of existing and potential channel partners with the goal of converting and selling their end users to Paslode. Initiates and coordinates end-user selling events, programs, and promotions with channel partners to drive sales, build end-user demand, and channel loyalty.
Accountable, Professional, and Credible: Is accountable for developing/implementing plans and actions that build the Paslode brand within the territory. Demonstrates leadership by proactively providing feedback and recommendations to District Sales Manager, Marketing, National Accounts, and Distribution to improve the effectiveness of all programs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
Proven ability to influence customers
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to analyze sales data and determine appropriate actions to improve account position
Results driven with ability to manage multiple priorities and highly effective follow through skills
Must be able to drive a motor vehicle with a clean driving record
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Selling experience, 1-3 years minimum
Building/Construction industry preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Travel required
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Able to walk and stand for long periods of time at Retail or job site locations. Able to access work in high locations, must be able to climb a ladder.
