Lead Network Engineer- Colorado Springs, CO
Job Responsibilities:
We are looking to employ a Lead Network Engineer who will report directly to the Director of Network Services and Technology in this exciting and challenging position. The duties and responsibilities are as follows;
This position will be responsible for the initial design, implementation and evolution of multi-service based network topologies, used in providing advanced satellite communications support and network operations based services to the US government, DoD as well as the commercial sectors.
In this role, you will provide the technical leadership for the architecture and engineering functions required of both secure/classified network topologies but also for enterprise-class commercial network environments.
You will work with other technical leaders within our organization to find elegant solutions to complex engineering and operational challenges that exist in our current and growing customer base. You will collaborate with other professionals in the design and evolution of network/systems based products used to support a multi-service based network topology. This position will collaborate with both US and Foreign-based resources to ensure objectives are met in a timely manner.
This position will also act as the lead POC for network engineering activities supporting current and future programs within the company proper, ensuring proper B&P scope, LOE, technical support/resources and overall program technical requirements related to network engineering are met.
This position will act as a technical mentor to junior staff and should assume some minimal supervisory skills/duties.
Requirements
Skills Required to be considered:
Candidate should have a Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 8 year's experience. Citizenship required as well as a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret level clearance.
CCNP, CCSP and will consider CCNA in conjunction with other active relevant certifications
Certifications must be active and in effect for more than 3 years.
Minimum 5 years experience in ISP, Telecom or similar production environment
Minimum 2 years in the IT support space
Network OSI knowledge
Extensive IOS experience
Extensive IDS/IPS and Firewall management
Understanding of security related technologies including encryption, IPsec, PKI etc
Network Management Principles - FCAPS (TMN 30.10)
ACL management, Subnetting, NAT, TACACS+, Radius, Syslog, NAM, IDS, SSL, PPPOE, PPPOA
Understanding of protocols such as OSPF, EIRGP, RBE, Spanning Tree, BGP, HSRP, GDP, NTP, SNMP, ICMP, TFTP, DNS, DHCP
Network architecture and design, for IP, MPLS, ATM and satellite based DVB-S/S2/DVB-RCS networks
Hands-on Engineering/Architecture experience in DoD networking environments, DIACAP, implementation of IA requirements under 8500.2, NIST 800-53, C&A activities etc.
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent written and verbal skills
Windows and Unix experience
Work flexibility is required and must be willing to work off-hours/days in support of critical programs, customers or other incidents deemed critical by leadership
Desired:
Top Secret clearance preferred
CCIE Certification Preferred
Experience with SSL and TCP accelerator implementation
Experience with Identity and SSO (Single-sign on) system implementation
Experience creating detailed network diagrams using Visio, Autocad or similar tools
Experience in IP Multicast applications (I.e. PIM/SSM)
