Ceramic Engineer

Florida Tile, Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of leading Italian tile manufacturer Panariagroup Industrie Ceramiche, has an immediate opening for a “hands on" Ceramic Engineer in the R&D lab at its Lawrenceburg, KY plant. The Ceramic Engineer will lead the development and enhancement of ceramic tile products through research, testing, analysis, and recommendations for production process improvements. 

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating with Lawrenceburg plant R&D lab staff and R&D staff at Panariagroup headquarters in Italy to research and develop new ceramic tile products.
• Cost-effectively transitioning new products from the R&D lab to the production line.
• Providing ongoing technical assistance to plant management regarding new and existing products.

• BS in Ceramic Engineering or Material Science.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Availability to occasionally travel internationally.
• Must be physically able to operating glazing line machines for production testing. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Preferred, but not required:

• Ceramic R&D and/or ceramic manufacturing experience
• Fluent in English & Italian
• Supervisory experience
