Billing and Collection Specialist

Performs billing and collections activities for hospital accounts. Requires the ability to manage accounts receivable using aging reports.  Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to  effectively and professionally communicate with administrative and medical personnel both verbally and in writing.  Proficiency with Microsoft office products required.

Expected End Results: 

• Effectively function on an individual work level;

• Report results and issues on a team level

Essential and Non-Essential Duties:

• Answer incoming telephone calls

• Bill assigned accounts on a scheduled basis

• Document billing and followup activities; and

• Provide miscellaneous departmental support as needed.

• Understanding of insurance billing requirements and remittance advices helpful

• Must have excellent customer service skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
