Description
Pekin Insurance, a property/casualty and life and health insurance company headquartered in Pekin, Illinois is currently seeking a Director of Solution Delivery to join our Information Technology Team. This role is responsible for providing total oversight and active management of the Solution Delivery area. This role will develop and approve the processes, deliverables and governance used within Solution Delivery. Success will be measured by the ability to implement quality solutions on-time and within budget.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Assess the effectiveness of the Solution Delivery process and deliverables and authorize changes to make them more effective.
o Must be able to establish a strong relationship of credibility with corporate executives and department heads.
o Develop a collaborative relationship with other areas of IT as well as the business community.
o Manage resource allocations and demands to optimize expenses and quality.
o Work with stakeholders and sponsors of Solution Delivery deliverables to ensure work is done effectively.
o Promote technology throughout the Pekin Insurance companies by keeping updated on technology and how it can be used in our workplace.
o Work with Architecture, Service Management, and Performance Management areas within IT to ensure Pekin Insurance has the capabilities to respond to our companies needs.
o Responsible for recruiting, performance appraisals, and development plans for all Solution Deliver employees.
Requirements
Required education/skills and experience:
o Bachelors Degree preferred, (Associates Degree considered) with Computer Science emphasis, along with 5 or more years experience providing leadership for enterprise-wide solution delivery initiatives.
o Experience with OpenUp, RUP and/or Agile development methodologies.
o Experience with multi-platform development.
