Job Description: 

Primary responsibility is to perform day-to-day operations managing corporate production Firewalls.  The Data Security Engineer will be responsible for working for a Sr. Engineer on Firewall maintenance and operations plus projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Strong understanding of networking technologies including; TCP/IP, DHCP, TFTP, VLAN, QoS, VoIP, and various WAN technologies (Frame Relay, MPLS, etc.)

• Experience with configuration and implementation of Cisco/Juniper firewall platforms data

• Ability to create QoS models, IP addressing schemes, and VLAN designs required

• Understanding of VPN, SSL and Firewall

• Create network topology maps using MS Visio

• Analyze end-to-end TCP/IP protocol trace to identify network connectivity issues is a strong plus

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• AS/BS degree in Engineering/Computer Science

• 3 - 7 years experience in networking technologies

• Active certifications required

• Excellent communication skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Excellent troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work independently as well in a team environment

• Must be able to learn new things quickly, need minimal direction, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Knowledge of traditional voice technologies

• Knowledge of wireless LAN/WAN technologies and LAN/WAN security

• Good technical troubleshooting skills are essential for working customer problems
