General Duties:
Plan, prepare and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture and/or laboratory format based on the approved curricula.
During all classes taught, demonstrate solid content area knowledge based on state-of-the-art information and technology.
Select and utilize a variety of approved course materials and teaching methods to ensure that the needs of individual students are met.
Implement and manage Company policy and procedures in the areas of attendance, grade reports, mid-term reports, student advising forms, and all other assigned educational materials.
Manage classroom teaching conditions and environment through active instructor presence in order to promote positive classroom discipline and control, timely class meetings, and appropriate use of furniture and equipment.
Achieve required retention rate by maintaining accurate daily attendance records and communicating any attendance concerns to the Department Chair.
Communicate Institution’s policy, financial aid and academic procedures to students as required.
Tutor and provide student academic support as needed.
Evaluate and resolve student inquiries and issues; ensure appropriate action is taken to the satisfaction of students, Company, and/or regulatory agencies.
Contribute actively to the process of curriculum review, including updating course documentation.
Support active cooperation with other departments including Financial Aid, Admissions and Placement.
Motivate students by demonstrating sensitivity for their concerns and actively involving them in classroom discussions and/or activities.
Advise students on attendance, grades and other issues to ensure completion of their chosen career program and maintain school retention goal.
Ensure all educational activity is conducted in a legal and ethical manner.
All necessary academic credentials and work related experience mandated by the Company, State accreditation agencies and any other regulatory agency that monitors compliance.
Minimum of 3 years practical work experience in the medical office including knowledge of medical terminology, front office procedures, ICD-9, CPT, Medical Insurance Billing and Coding.
Previous teaching experience preferred, but not required.
