Description
High profile individual seeks a The Laundress / Lady’s Maid for her NYC and L.A. residences. Responsibilities include:
• The proper washing, ironing, steaming, care, packing and unpacking for extensive travel, and organization of the family’s extensive wardrobe and linens
• Special attention paid to the Lady of the household’s needs; laying clothes out for specific events; maintaining her wardrobe, etc
• Working with the housekeeping staff, and the client to coordinate a weekly laundry schedule (which would include everything from gentlemen’s dress shirts, to fine gowns)
• Coordinating with staff members of other residences to ensure continuity of service between properties
• Creating a log book entry system to organize receipts of expenses and receipts related to dry cleaning
Salary is generous, but DOE. This position also includes a full benefits package, and potential to earn discretionary annual bonus.
Requirements
• Must have a minimum of 4 to 5 years related experience working as a private Laundress / Lady’s Maid for a prominent private residence
• Must have the ability to care for fine fabrics (cashmere, silk, linen, etc)
• Must have proficiency operating a commercial sheet press and professional Rowenta steam iron
• Must have excellent communications skills
• Must be highly organized and confident managing a list of garments which have been sent out for professional service
• Must be available to travel with client between New York City and Los Angeles residences
• Must have flexibility with hours and scheduling
• Must be legally able to work for any employer in the United States
