This role requires a candidate with experience in architecting and executing a QA strategy.  This experience will be key in developing and implementing School Specialty's Quality Assurance Methodology as it relates to our business systems, as well as executing the the methodology on a day-to-day basis with both internal and external resources. 

Summary of essential job functions

·  Assist with defining and executing QA Methodology, standards, processes, and deliverables within the system development life cycle

·  Develop and implement test plans, test scripts, test cases, and test tools to execute QA tasks related to system implementations and enhancements

·  Execute multiple types of testing including, but not limited to: integration testing, system testing, regression testing, performance testing, white box testing, black box testing using both manual and automated processes

·  Identify quality issues and determine corrective action through analyzing results

·  Prioritize issues and focus on critical needs

·  Participate in project planning efforts in order to develop appropriate test plan and test deliverables

·  Lead off-shore testing team in execution of test deliverables and adherence to School Specialty QA Methodology

·  Determine process for tracking test and resolution activities for both in-house and off-shore accountability

·  Support the QA and Training Manager in on-boarding, training and management of off-shore testing resources

·  Interface with Training Analysts to transfer knowledge necessary for training documentation and development

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor Degree highly preferred, though number of years of experience will be taken into consideration.

  • 5 + years in a Quality Assurance role with proven experience implementing a QA practice

  • SQL and relational database experience

  • Oracle eBusiness Suite knowledge; managing the QA function in Oracle eBusiness Suite a plus

Knowledge/Skills required

 

  • Ability to interpret and analyze business requirements, and then create and execute test plans to validatate requirements are met

  • Expertise in executing multiple types of testing including integration testing, system testing, regression testing, performance testing, white box testing, black box testing using both manual and automated processes

  • Experience using automated testing applications;  ATS Suite experience a plus

  • Create and execute test plans and test cases with minimal guidance for web-based and Oracle applications

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with all level of associates and management

  • Strong decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills

  • Effective documentation and process development skills

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple demands and priorities

  • Willingness to share critical expertise and knowledge within the team

  • Ability to work with minimal guidance
