Description
Working closely with our field services group, the Mechanical Engineer/Designer will design refurbishment components for hydro-turbines and related equipment. This individual will provide technical support internally to project management and proposal engineering, as well as externally to the field offices, subcontractors and clients.
Specific job responsibilities include:
- Designs refurbishment components using calculations to verify designs. Components may include turbine runners, discharge rings, shaft, bearings, wicket gates, wicket gate mechanism/bushings, headcover/bottomring, stayvanes, distributor/stay rings, draft tube liners and turbine inlets.
- Resolve technical issues related to projects.
- Performs components checks as required.
- Assists the Sales Department in the bid for technical issues.
- Provides assistance to project management in technical tasks related to the refurbishment of hydro-turbines and related equipment.
- Assist Purchasing in reviewing quotes and purchase orders for completeness.
This position is based at our US headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
