Certified Nursing Assistant

Description Note:  Please read the complete description below before applying for this job.  Complete DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: Provides quality nursing care to residents.  Assists residents with the activities of daily living as specified on individualized resident care plans and assignment sheets according to established policies, procedures and objectives of the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   Two years of high school or equivalent.

2.   Certified as C.N.A. in the State of Illinois or able to be certified within 120 days.

3.   Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF C.N.A.:

1.   Performs and documents resident care delivery as specified on care plans, individualized assignments, bath schedules, nutrition, ambulation schedules, etc.

2.   Monitors and meets resident needs consistent with quality nursing procedures such as bathing, transferring, eating assistance, etc.

3.   Observes and reports physical and/or behavioral changes in residents.

4.   Reports observations and suggestions promptly, accurately and precisely.

5.   Properly uses and cares for equipment and supplies.

6.   Works cooperatively and productively with co-workers.

7.   Responds rapidly and appropriately to emergencies involving resident and co-worker safety.

8.   Makes beds as assigned.

9.   Assists in orienting residents to the facility environment and routines upon admission and as needed throughout their stay.

10. Receives shift report from nurse on a timely basis.

11. Answers all call lights and resident requests in a timely manner.

12. Helps maintain neatness and orderliness of utility rooms and breakroom.

13. Helps keep resident belongings and equipment clean.

14. Passes ice water as assigned.

15. Asks for assistance and provides assistance for transfers involving two or more staff.

16. Performs cleaning duties as assigned.

17. Will perform all other duties as assigned to ensure the health, safety and well being of the residents and to ensure the efficient running of the nursing home.

 Additional InformationWeekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.
