.Net Software Engineer

Description A major insurance firm is looking for a .Net Software Engineer. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of professional software development experience in a large scale environment using Microsoft technologies, including:
VB.NET
C#
ASP.NET
.Net Web Services
VB6
Visual Studio 2005
SQL Server 2005
SQL Server Reporting Services

The candidate should have a complete understanding of n-tier application development. Experience with XML and AJAX is required and experience designing XML schemas is a plus. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential and work history should demonstrate growth in job responsibilities. A successful candidate will also exhibit a strong desire to learn and understand all aspects of the companys operations and be able to interact directly with other departments. Experience in the Financial Services or Insurance industries is a plus.

Key job responsibilities include:
Designing, developing, testing, integrating and documenting all proprietary software tools and applications for internal use.
Providing technical guidance to internal business partners on aspects of security, performance, and scalability.
Working directly with other members of the staff to understand business needs and designing technology solutions to meet them.
Enhancement and maintenance of existing proprietary software.
Creation and maintenance of periodic and ad-hoc internal reports.
Ensuring that all deliverables meet standards.
