Tax Accountant

Higher One is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our growing Accounting and Finance team. Reporting to the Controller, the Tax Accountant will assist with all aspects of tax accounting and compliance including the following:
Responsibilities:
Calculate tax expense and tax assets and liabilities in compliance with GAAP including FAS 109 and FIN 48.Reconcile tax accounts in general ledger as required.Prepare tax footnote disclosures.Prepare federal and state income tax returns.Prepare sales and use tax returns.Prepare property tax returns.Ensure that tax installments and extensions are properly filed and paid.Conduct tax research, analysis, and planning to ensure tax optimization.Maintain required Sarbanes Oxley documentation for the tax process.Work closely with the independent tax firm and tax compliance and strategies.Assist with special projects.
