Description Logistics Engineer Job

Client located in the state of North Carolina has an immediate need for a Logistics Analyst/Solutions Engineer. Two positions available: Entry level and 3-5 yrs. experience. The primary focus of this position is to develop solutions for consumer products industry clients' supply chain challenges. Client prefers local candidates or those willing to relocate on their own.

Responsibilities

  • Develop value-added solutions to consumer products supply chain challenges
  • Develop solutions using Six Sigma methodology
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing operations
  • Perform analyses utilizing MS Access and Excel
  • Understand the use of optimization/decision support tools to perform global supply chain studies, routing optimization, and transportation rate analyses
  • Define consumer products supply chain requirements and solution approach
  • Perform detailed solution design

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in logistics, transportation, or technical field
  • Up to 5 years experience in one or more key functional areas: supply chain management in consumer products industry (retail is a plus), logistics, decision support systems/technology, transportation management, distribution, or procurement functional responsibilities
  • Strong project management skills
  • Process oriented with analytical problem solving skills
  • Understanding of the global and seasonal nature of the consumer products supply chain
  • Operational and consulting experience, preferably in the consumer products industry
  • Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheet and database proficiency
  • Knowledge of state of the art technology and supply chain best practices
  • Understanding of global trade requirements
  • Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing experience with Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification preferred
  • Retail experience is preferred
