Nuclear Plant Piping Support Designer

Summary:
Develop piping and HVAC support models for nuclear plant BOP.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design, analysis and qualification of balance of plant piping and duct system supports for new domestic nuclear power plants. Prepare support arrangements accounting for pipe system component requirements; equipment and other discipline services; account for operability and maintenance of piping system and equipment considerations. Prepare and check drawings; perform 3D model review; input and extract information from 3D model; input to design database, data sheets, bulk material requisitions and technical bid evaluations; Work under the direction of Lead piping and support engineer.

Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:
15+ years experience in piping and HVAC support design for nuclear power plant or other nuclear facility type. Must be proficient with CAD support design programs such as Pelican Forge, and structural qualification software such as STAAD or STRUDL, as well as PDS 2D/3D, Microstation and AutoCAD; 2D and 3D intelligent drawings; Able to work with skill and proficiency with minimal guidance; work safely and adhere to safety policies. Able to work both independently and as part of a project team.
