Senior Core Java Developer

Corporate Center partners with the business divisions to ensure that the firm operates as an effective and integrated whole with a common vision and set of values.DescriptionThe role is for a hands-on, Java Development Lead in Finance IT, developing new Java / Oracle applications to support Investment Bank and group-wide Treasury and Finance functions. Finance IT supports all Investment Bank front-office trading functions, providing an integrated, Global Ledger for PNL, Treasury, and Regulatory Reporting. This unique, cross-product view will provide the candidate with the opportunity to develop domain knowledge about a wide range of financial products, while expanding their technical and team leadership skills.We are looking for someone to join our highly talented team in developing and supporting a number of Java applications, both standalone, J2SE server-side and web applications. The candidate should have a strong software engineering background and a firm knowledge of the technical fundamentals required to build scaleable, performing, high-throughput applications.A successful candidate will demonstrate

Experience leading a small-to-medium-sized development team on an application or component

Quick understanding of functional requirements and translation into technical designs

Ability to estimate work, plan and manage a technical delivery

Strong technical and team-working skills, acting as a Generalizing Specialist

Self motivated, looking to take responsibility for application design and implementationRequirements

Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience designing and developing high-performance, Java-based applications

Minimum of 3 years use of Core Java, including OO-design skills

Minimum of 1 year developing using J2SE technologies, including JSP, Servlets, and JDBC

Minimum of 3 years developing applications using database technologies, primarily Oracle

Minimum 1 year experience using XML technologies, including XSLT

Minimum of 1 year experience working in teams using Agile development techniques, including test driven development, continuous integration, and development iterationsPreferred Qualifications

4 year bachelors degree or international equivalent, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.

Proficient in application deployment and support on Solaris & Linux environments

Strong communication and presentation skills

Financial experience (preferably Investment Banking)

Development management experience using Agile methodologies

Experience using Java frameworks,including Spring, Hibernate, and Ajax
