Description
Under minimal supervision, the Instrumentation Technician works in a team environment to ensure the successful set-up and operation of data acquisition, instrumentation, and test equipment in a neat and orderly work area.
50% - Devise, select, set-up and operate electronic instrumentation, transducers, signal conditioners, and data acquisition equipment and related electromechanical or electrohydraulic apparatus used for operational and environmental testing of liquid rocket engines and solid propellant devices.
20% - Configures software menus for calibration factors, sampling rates, etc.
10% - Performs electronic component installation and soldering.
10% - Uses knowledge of measurement sensors such as pressure, flow, temperature, etc. to troubleshoot complex data measurement systems from source to recording device.
10% - Sets up and operates vibration table if experienced.
Requires a High School Diploma and at least 2 years of experience in instrumentation and data acquisition electronics. Associate's in instrumentation, electronics, control and data acquisition or equivalent technical school training preferred. Requires the ability to read electrical schematics and be highly competent working with computers, controllers and running software programs (Labview is desireable). Experience with installing and integrating PLC systems is desireable. Experience working around hazardous materials or environments needed. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person. Note: Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
