Description Black & Veatch Telecommunications Division is seeking a Project Manager with experience in the Electric or Water Utilities Communication Networks to support the growth of Telecom engineering, procurement and construction services in the Private Networks Business. Must be familiar with the planning, design and implementation of reliable wireless and wireline networks. In addition, must have knowledge and experience in the Project Management tools and processes required in completing these types of projects. The professional must be a self-starter, have good oral and written communication skills, be a team player, and have the ability to multi-task.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
Project Management:
- Deepen client relationships by delivering successful solutions to clients on projects
- Develop and manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors and client deliverables
- Lead a team of technical professionals to support engagement and development
- Provide training and mentoring to less experienced professionals

Sales & Marketing Support
- Utilize industry contacts and existing relationships to position B&V for new customer accounts.
- Lead assigned proposal efforts for development of technical solutions, project approach and estimated cost.
- Develop understanding of client business issues that drive decision making.
- Monitor industry trends and new technologies.
- Take an active role in industry organizations and conferences (committees, speaking engagements, write papers for publication, etc.).
- Understand the current B&V value proposition to determine and develop a path for new service offerings for new business expansion.
Requirements Project management skills including scope management, scheduling, budget management, team leadership, contracting, and risk management. Experience in self-performing and subcontracting for wireless services required. Understanding of utility telecom issues, management structures and internal decision-making.

Type of Experience: Communication network design and implementation with a minimum of 5 years of project management. Experience in electric utility industry required


Bachelors degree required, and PE or PMP preferred
