Description
Requires a level of knowledge normally acquired through the successful completion of trade school with an emphasis on medical electronics. Current certification as a BioMed Electronics Technician preferred. Requires 6 to 12 months of work experience in the biomedical electronics field. Demonstrates the ability to use electronic testing equipment and to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of biomedical and electronic equipment within the hospital such as closed circuit television cameras, audio and videotape players and cameras, patient monitoring and telemetry equipment, pocket pagers, etc. Must have a valid drivers license. Repairs and maintains closed circuit systems, audio visual and biomedical electronic equipment, cardiac life support, laboratory surgical fiber optics, etc. Maintains up-to-date records of electronic equipment. Participates in electrical safety program. Evaluates electrical conditions against measurable criteria to detect malfunctions. Assists in the Electrical section as assigned. Functions as a member of the hospital fire response team.
